Yes! We are currently accepting admissions applications for the 2025-2026 school year. We have about 120 seats available for KG-5th (20 seats per grade). Interest is high and we recommend applying early to have a better chance at securing a seat.
We take student & staff safety very seriously. In addition to the security guard onsite, during school hours the masjid is locked and has a buzzer button to the masjid front office. The school will have an additional layer of security in place for the 2nd floor during school hours. The masjid is also implementing an electronic alert & security system that automatically locks classroom doors in the unlikely event of any security threat.
We are starting with KG-5th and have enough space to add 6th grade in the current facility in Year 2. The goal is to add one grade each year as we grow InshaAllah. This is one of the reasons we are starting with the elementary grades to allow us time for strategic planning and have the right resources and facility expansion to effectively cater for Middle & High School grades InshaAllah.
To cater for staff and students that come from surrounding areas and have children in other schools, we have set our hours from 8:30 AM to 3:45 PM - doors open at 8:15 AM.
We believe investing in our teachers is investing in our children. Teachers play a critical role in the success and wellbeing of a child. In addition to teaching experience and qualifications, there are specific qualities we look for, which include:
We have an ambitious vision of taking Islamic Education to the next level by developing a unique curriculum that takes best practices from research and proven models and incorporates an Islamic Worldview lens to each subject. Our proprietary Prophetic Tarbiyah curriculum is rooted in emotional intelligence and is integrated into the learner’s journey. We are developing the next changemakers and stewards of tomorrow by giving them a grounded & holistic educational foundation.
We work with a curriculum consultant to ensure our curriculum not only meets the TEKS and Common Core standards, but exceeds that by taking best practices from other models. Our curriculum team has looked at Waldorf, Cambridge, and other educational standards to create a unique learner’s journey to ensure academic excellence with an Islamic Worldview.
Our leadership has extensive experience in the accreditation process and has accredited other schools in the past. Accreditation requires an abundance of data. The goal is to undergo accreditation after year 1 once the school is operational and has the data and paperwork necessary to complete the process.
We are currently hiring for the position of Physical Education Coach. This position will not only oversee the physical wellness portion of the students’ education, but will also take lead on the sports program and inter-school competitions.
We do offer financial aid. Once the admissions application is complete, and the student successfully meets all other criteria, we ask the family to contact Leiya@muraqabaschool.org if they wish to discuss a demonstrated need and go through the financial aid process. We also have a Tuition Incentive program that allows families to take ownership of the school’s wellbeing while reducing their annual tuition. Please visit the “Info” tab and “Tuition & Fees” to learn more.
Yes. The recommendation letter helps us understand your child better, beyond the numbers and letters on a report card. They give us more insight as to who they are as a person. We encourage the recommendation letter be from a teacher, coach, or mentor that can share details about his/her academic standing, behavior, and overall character.
We currently have the admissions applicants participate in MAP testing to get a better understanding of their academic level. Our curriculum is also being designed in a way where we have a consultant reviewing to ensure we cover both TEKS & Common Core standards. The goal is to ensure the learning occurs year-round to avoid the stress of “teaching to the test” for both teachers and students.
